The three ski areas open on Friday 4 December 2026 and close on Sunday 4 April 2027, with lifts from 9:00 to 17:00. Here is which weeks fill up first.

When to book
The season as a marked piste
Each stretch of the 2026-27 season has the colour of a piste marker: how hard it is to find a vehicle on those days. Black weeks book up first.

Opening and the December bank holidays
Opening weekend coincides with the Spanish bank holidays of 6 and 8 December: the CG-2 and the border are full on the 5th and the 8th.

Before Christmas
Quiet slopes and easy roads. A good week for a first trip with children.
Dec 19 – Jan 6 · Peak: book as soon as you have your flights
Christmas, New Year and Epiphany
School holidays in Spain, the UK and France at the same time. Saturdays 19 and 26 December and 2 January are the hardest days to travel.

After 7 January the valley empties. Weekends stay busy with day-trippers from Catalonia.

February: half-terms and winter holidays
UK half-term in mid-February, French winter holidays in staggered blocks until early March and Carnival on 9 February. Every Saturday is a changeover day.

Holy Week and Easter
Holy Week runs from 21 to 28 March 2027: Spanish families arrive on the 25th and 26th and leave on Easter Monday, 29 March.

UK Easter holidays begin; the lifts close on Sunday 4 April 2027.

What moves the calendar
- Spanish bank holidays: 6 and 8 December, 6 January, Holy Thursday and Good Friday (25 and 26 March 2027) and Easter Monday in Catalonia (29 March).
- Christmas holidays in Spain, the UK and France overlap from about 19 December to 6 January.
- UK half-term: mid-February in most English schools.
- French winter holidays: two weeks per zone, staggered from early February to early March.
- Carnival: Tuesday 9 February 2027.

When to book
Book the transfer with the flights
Black weeks book up first: the airport transfers of a Saturday in Christmas or Easter go weeks ahead. Book when you have your flights; you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pick-up.
Season dates depend on the snow: the resorts may open some sectors later or extend if conditions allow. The official pages always have the last word.

Three ski areas, one valley road
Each pole goes from the lowest lift base to the highest point of its ski area, on the same altitude scale. Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís share one lift pass and the same season dates.
